Info

In 1952, Güldner started a model renewal, the first products of which were the 22-horsepower ADA and the 35-horsepower AFN. The ADA was developed from the earlier AF 20 model. The wheelbase was increased to 1785 millimeters and ground clearance was raised on both axles by means of portal axles. The engine was still a 1.6-liter 2-cylinder diesel and the transmission for all new Güldner models was now supplied by ZF.

The AFN was the largest Güldner of its time. Its special features included a cab structure enclosed on both sides and high ground clearance. Maximum power of 35 hp was reached at 1500 rpm. The nominal speed was 1800 rpm, and at this speed maximum torque was achieved. The transmission was standard 5+1 and as an option there was a gear below the standard with a speed of 1.89 km/h.

A year later, the AFS was introduced, which was a detuned 28-horsepower version of the AFN. In 1954, above the ADA, the ABN was introduced. The engine was increased to 1.8 liters and power was 25 hp. A lower gear was standard, meaning the gearbox had 6+1 speeds. The wheelbase was 9 cm longer. The lifting capacity of the optional lifting device was increased to 750 kilograms. In 1955, the ABS replaced the ADA, which was the same as the ABN but with power reduced to 22 horsepower. These models were the first Güldners to have a water pump, but the design of the cooling system was problematic.

As a parallel option to the ABS, the air-cooled 22-horsepower ALB was introduced in 1955.

The data has been collected primarily from brochures. In some cases, sources contain conflicting information. In such cases, we have attempted to select the most reliable information. There is particularly significant variation in speed data, which varies depending on factors such as tire size. For tires, only the size most commonly used in Finland is listed. Other changes during the model history have been addressed in the text section. For the front axle lock, the Finnish term "hammaslukko" (gear lock) is used for all 100% locks.
