John Deere 6M 180-250

In the 2027 model year, the differences between the larger 6M series models and the 6R series further diminished as the cab became more like the 6R's and the e19 transmission was introduced. In models 180-240, lifting capacity increased to 9 tons.

There were four power classes of models equipped with a "large chassis": 180-240, and two with an "extra-large chassis": 230 and 250. The three largest models shared the feature of having PSS engines equipped with both variable geometry and fixed geometry turbochargers. With mechanical transmissions, there were 20+20 gears (models 180-220). The most advanced versions featured the CommanQuad Plus transmission with robotic range shifts.

The new e19 was a powershift transmission developed based on the PowrQuad transmission, combining a dual clutch and proportional valve control. A tilt sensor included in the drivetrain control enabled terrain-sensitive gear selection, making gear shifts faster and more anticipatory. The Skip Shift function allowed skipping multiple gears in rapid accelerations or decelerations, while Scroll Shift kept the clutches partially engaged for faster transitions, reduced heat load, and less wear. The transmission could be controlled by a traditional lever, the Compact CommandARM armrest, or the new CommandX Plus joystick.

The instrument cluster was located on the front pillar. Optional equipment for the 6M included a control armrest, 10.1" or 12.8" display, autoguidance, section control, mechanical cab suspension, hydropneumatic front suspension, and trailer brake valve. The two largest models featured a 100% front axle lock, which was available as an option starting from model 180. Up to four hydraulic valves could be installed at the rear. The total tractor weight was 13.5 tons for the large models and 15 tons for the extra-large models.
