Info

Introduced in 1959, the 45-horsepower Mammut was the most powerful model of the original predator series. However, its 3-cylinder 4.3-liter engine was still from the older series, unlike the smaller models. The transmission, on the other hand, was state-of-the-art, a ZF 8+4.

The Mammut II, introduced with the 1962 model update, received a new generation 4-cylinder high-speed engine. It produced 55 hp. The original Mammut remained alongside until 1964, when it also received a new engine in a lower power version. In 1963, the four-wheel-drive Mammut II Allrad was introduced, which was Eicher's first four-wheel-drive model after a few years’ break. The front axle was supplied by ZF, and the power take-off was on the right side.

In 1966, the Mammut HR was introduced, featuring a hydrostatic transmission. Its manufacturer was the British company Dowty. Only just over 50 units of these models were produced.

The data has been collected primarily from brochures. In some cases, sources contain conflicting information. In such cases, we have attempted to select the most reliable information. There is particularly significant variation in speed data, which varies depending on factors such as tire size. For tires, only the size most commonly used in Finland is listed. Other changes during the model history have been addressed in the text section. For the front axle lock, the Finnish term "hammaslukko" (gear lock) is used for all 100% locks.
