Info

The successor to the earlier 1200 model was the 1210, equipped with a partially synchronized transmission. At the end of 1974, a turbocharged 1410 was introduced above it, featuring oil-bath disc brakes and more powerful hydraulics. In Finland, the cabin was mostly the Taavi model, and partially the Swedish Klippan. The steering in these models was hydrostatic. In 1977, the cabin was replaced with a factory-installed, flat-floor Sekura. At the same time, the pedals were changed to a dependent type. The diameter of the dual clutch in models 1210 and 1410 was 305 mm, as in later models as well. In 1977, 4-wheel drive models were introduced in Finland too; these had been in the production program since the end of 1973. Smaller models had DB's own front axle, while the 1410 featured a German Kramer axle.

The four-speed Hydra Shift quick transmission was launched in 1972. It was only available for rear-wheel-drive models. Hydra Shift was introduced in Finland only in 1976. Based on two consecutive planetary gearsets, the Hydra Shift was ahead of its time, and among current four-speed quick transmissions, it only falls short in that after changing direction, movement always starts at the smallest gear of the selected range. Of course, similar systems had already appeared in large tractors in the USA in the 1960s.

The data has been collected primarily from brochures. In some cases, sources contain conflicting information. In such cases, we have attempted to select the most reliable information. There is particularly significant variation in speed data, which varies depending on factors such as tire size. For tires, only the size most commonly used in Finland is listed. Other changes during the model history have been addressed in the text section. For the front axle lock, the Finnish term "hammaslukko" (gear lock) is used for all 100% locks.
