At Agritechnica in autumn 2025, Claas introduced the Axion 9 series, which replaced the previous Axion 900 models. The Axion 9 was offered in both wheeled and tracked versions. In the Terra Trac tracked models, the rear wheels were replaced by Claas’ own in-house manufactured track units.

The engine remained FPT’s 8.7-litre six-cylinder with a variable-geometry turbocharger. Power output ranged from 330 to 450 hp. The engine oil change interval had been extended to 750 hours.

The transmission was still the stepless CMATIC, i.e. the ZF Terramatic TMG 45, featuring three ranges. Top speed was 50 km/h. The hydraulic system could be specified with two pumps delivering a combined flow of 370 litres per minute. Transmission and hydraulic oils were changed at 1,500-hour intervals.

The cab was physically larger than before. The 17% increase in floor area was said to match that of the JD 8R. Material quality had been upgraded to a more premium level. The instrument cluster had been moved to displays integrated into the A-pillar. Autosteer was integrated for the first time into the new armrest-mounted Cebis display. Air conditioning was 30% more powerful than before, and both the cab and front axle suspension had been revised. Noise levels had been reduced to 66 decibels.

In the Terra Trac version, the rear wheels were replaced by suspended track units, while steering was still carried out via the front wheels and automatically controlled steering brakes. Power transmission between the tractor gearbox and the track units was implemented via an open driveshaft. Track height could be adjusted via the display to ensure correct drawbar height when working with implements. The lower links were longer, as the tracks extend further rearwards than wheels.
