Claas Axion 8.240 - 8.290

In summer 2026, Claas replaced the previous Axion 800 models with the new Axion 8 models. The most significant change was the new cab, previously introduced on the Axion 9, with a noise level reduced to 67 decibels. The front "Viso" design was also new.

Three models were available, with rated power of 240, 270, and 290 hp. The engines were, as before, 6.7-liter FPT NEF engines. Additional power of over 20 hp was available depending on operating conditions, controlled by the Dynamic Power function. The oil change interval was extended to 750 hours. The transmission was always the stepless CMATIC made by ZF. 50 km/h was reached at 1400 rpm. A new feature in transmission control was the engine speed adjustment according to conditions with the Auto Droop function. The drivetrain was covered by a 5,000-hour warranty when the tractor was serviced at an authorized dealer.

Lifting capacity was 9.7 tons on the smallest model and 10.2 tons on the others. Load-sensing hydraulics were equipped with a 150 or 205 l/min pump. With the latter, the implement could receive 140 l/min from a 3/4" connector. The wheelbase remained the same 2.98 meters as before.
