Info

After some practice, Valtra managed to put the pieces of the four-cylinder tractor together when the N-series was introduced at the end of 2005. The lineup was extensive right from the start: there were six different engine options and three equipment levels: Classic, HiTech, and Advance. The HiTech had an electrically controlled transmission as before. The Advance featured hydraulics based on a 115 l/min variable displacement pump with electrically controlled valves, a control armrest, an air suspension seat, and cruise control. Compared to competitors, the main drawback was the three-speed powershift.

The engines in the first versions were mechanically controlled in the three smallest models. The Eco model N111e had an electronic injection pump, and the two largest models already had common rail engines. Among these, the N141 had an entirely new 4.9-liter engine, which raised the power output of the four-cylinder tractor to new levels. A year later, the N101 and N111e also received common rail engines, with the N111e featuring two settings in the same engine: Power and Eco. The additional power provided by the common rail was available in the three highest gears, meaning only during transport driving.

The cab’s basic structure was the same as in the T-series. Noise level was reported as 72.5 dB for most models. The fuel tank was no longer in the intermediate frame; instead, a plastic tank (with a smaller steel tank available as an option) was located under the cab on the left side. Cab suspension was available as an optional extra on the Advance model. Because of this feature and the variable displacement pump, the Advance models were 14 cm taller than the other models. Front axle suspension was available for all models. A turbine clutch was also available except on the N141.

The data has been collected primarily from brochures. In some cases, sources contain conflicting information. In such cases, we have attempted to select the most reliable information. There is particularly significant variation in speed data, which varies depending on factors such as tire size. For tires, only the size most commonly used in Finland is listed. Other changes during the model history have been addressed in the text section. For the front axle lock, the Finnish term "hammaslukko" (gear lock) is used for all 100% locks.
