The IV-series Steigers were introduced in the fall of 1982. The technology was almost unchanged, with the focus now on minor improvements. The exterior featured more black and angular headlights. Except for the Tiger, all models were available with either Cummins (K versions) or Caterpillar (C) engines. Additionally, the Panther had a new option: a Komatsu engine (SM-325).
