Info

The 1952 D 28 was a redesigned version of the earlier D 47 and D 28 models. The engine was now a 2.4-liter MWM, and the gearbox was still a 5+1 from in-house production. A small number were also produced with an air-cooled Deutz F2 L 514 engine. A larger share of D 28 production was sold for export compared to the rest of the lineup. Tractors exported to Turkey were yellow, and orange was also used in export markets.

The D 32, introduced at the same time, was a more powerful version. It had a 2.85-liter, 32-horsepower engine. It is known that three units of this model were imported to Finland. These demonstration tractors and the D 28 tested by Vakola remained the only Hela tractors in Finland.

The most powerful model, the D 40, was the first 3-cylinder Hela. The MWM engine was 3.5 liters. The gearbox was a ZF 6+1.

The data has been collected primarily from brochures. In some cases, sources contain conflicting information. In such cases, we have attempted to select the most reliable information. There is particularly significant variation in speed data, which varies depending on factors such as tire size. For tires, only the size most commonly used in Finland is listed. Other changes during the model history have been addressed in the text section. For the front axle lock, the Finnish term "hammaslukko" (gear lock) is used for all 100% locks.
