Info

In the autumn of 1990, Case IH introduced the 9200 series articulated tractors. The engines were the same as in the preceding 9100 series: the 9210 (200 hp) and 9230 (235 hp) had 8.3-liter Casets (Consolidated Diesel Corporation), the 9250 (300 hp) had a 10-liter Cummins, and the 9270 (335 hp) and 9280 (375 hp) had 14-liter Cummins engines. In addition to these, the lineup included rigid-frame models with front and rear axle steering, the 9240 and 9260, which otherwise corresponded to models that were 10 numbers lower. These models replaced the old 94 series Casets in the lineup. In 1993, the 9250 Row Crop Special was introduced to replace these, featuring a frame that could be locked as needed and used with front axle steering only. With both steering modes combined, the turning radius was only 7.4 meters.

It was said that 85 percent of the parts were from previous models. The biggest innovation in the 9200 series was the Skip-Shift transmission, which allowed skipping gears under light load and shifting 1-4-6-8. Radar-based traction control was also available for the tractors.

The technical specifications of the 9280 correspond to the model imported to Germany, while the others were American versions.

The data has been collected primarily from brochures. In some cases, sources contain conflicting information. In such cases, we have attempted to select the most reliable information. There is particularly significant variation in speed data, which varies depending on factors such as tire size. For tires, only the size most commonly used in Finland is listed. Other changes during the model history have been addressed in the text section. For the front axle lock, the Finnish term "hammaslukko" (gear lock) is used for all 100% locks.
