Info

Since 1982, the Compact models have been equipped with MAN six-cylinder engines, and Schlüter’s own engine production has focused on larger size classes. The engines were big six-cylinder units, and the model designation “V” stood for four-wheel drive. The transmission was still ZF’s 12+6 range-and-direction gearbox, but from 1983 onward the top gear could no longer be selected in reverse. A torque converter remained an optional extra. In 1986 the 50 km/h versions were introduced.

On the four-wheel drive models, the front axle was fitted with separate disc brakes. Instead of the push-rod sensing system, a pull-rod sensing system became available as an alternative. The cab was also offered in a lower Mini-Cab version. The noise level in the cab was 80 dB.

In 1988 a hydraulic quick-shift gearbox became an optional extra. Models equipped with it had a longer wheelbase. The standard models also switched to the longer wheelbase in 1990.

The data has been collected primarily from brochures. In some cases, sources contain conflicting information. In such cases, we have attempted to select the most reliable information. There is particularly significant variation in speed data, which varies depending on factors such as tire size. For tires, only the size most commonly used in Finland is listed. Other changes during the model history have been addressed in the text section. For the front axle lock, the Finnish term "hammaslukko" (gear lock) is used for all 100% locks.
