Info

In the final Massey-Harris series, there were three models featuring a redesigned hood shape, chrome striping, and a bronze-colored engine. The largest model, the 555, was updated from the previous 55 with minimal changes. It still had Continental’s 6.3-liter gasoline or diesel engine and a 4+1 transmission. The 333 and 444 were equipped with a range extender, offering 10+2 gears. The engine in the 333 was a 3.1-liter gasoline, propane, or diesel, and in the 444, a 4.5-liter. The 555 always had a wide front axle, while the 333 and 444 were also available in the row-crop version with narrow front wheels. The power take-off was an optional extra, operated by a separate clutch with a hand lever. The rear wheels had a quick track-width adjustment – an invention that spread from Allis-Chalmers to other American tractors. Power steering and Ferguson’s three-point hitch were optional extras. The electrical system was now 12 volts.

This model range was not brought to Europe; instead, in Britain, production of the previous model range continued until the end of Massey-Harris.

The data has been collected primarily from brochures. In some cases, sources contain conflicting information. In such cases, we have attempted to select the most reliable information. There is particularly significant variation in speed data, which varies depending on factors such as tire size. For tires, only the size most commonly used in Finland is listed. Other changes during the model history have been addressed in the text section. For the front axle lock, the Finnish term "hammaslukko" (gear lock) is used for all 100% locks.
