Info

At the beginning of 1955, the MAN AS 718 was replaced by the B 18. The engine was still a 2-cylinder Güldner. One smaller gear was added to the ZF transmission, and due to the new gearbox, the wheelbase increased by 5 centimeters.

In the autumn of 1955, despite its Güldner engine, the smallest model in the lineup also received the M engine introduced in other MAN tractors, where fuel was injected onto the walls of the combustion chamber. The engine was quieter than before and, at least according to advertisements, also more economical.

In 1956, a rear-wheel-drive model, the D 18 H, also entered production.

The data has been collected primarily from brochures. In some cases, sources contain conflicting information. In such cases, we have attempted to select the most reliable information. There is particularly significant variation in speed data, which varies depending on factors such as tire size. For tires, only the size most commonly used in Finland is listed. Other changes during the model history have been addressed in the text section. For the front axle lock, the Finnish term "hammaslukko" (gear lock) is used for all 100% locks.
