Info

In early 1980 Deutz introduced the 200-horsepower DX 230 to the market. It featured Deutz’s 200-hp 9.6-liter engine, a ZF transmission, and Bosch hydraulics and power lift. The 18+6 gearbox included an electric three-speed Powermatic S supercreeper. The clutch was a multi-plate wet clutch.

In 1982 the DX 230 was replaced by the DX 250, which was 20 hp more powerful. Compared to similarly powered competitors, the large Deutz models were very expensive, and in total about 500 units were produced, including the later DX 8.30.

The data has been collected primarily from brochures. In some cases, sources contain conflicting information. In such cases, we have attempted to select the most reliable information. There is particularly significant variation in speed data, which varies depending on factors such as tire size. For tires, only the size most commonly used in Finland is listed. Other changes during the model history have been addressed in the text section. For the front axle lock, the Finnish term "hammaslukko" (gear lock) is used for all 100% locks.
