Info

At the end of 1967, the Deutz 06 series was introduced as a successor to the 05 series, featuring new FL 912 series direct injection diesel engines. The engines were air-cooled and modest in durability. All models now had TW series transmissions, which had previously been used in the 6005 model. The 6006 and 7006 had partially synchronized 9+3 gearboxes, and from 1972 onwards, 12+4 gears. The PTO clutch was manually operated. There was also a Hydromat version of the 6006 equipped with a Linden hydrostatic power transmission.

The smaller 6-cylinder 7506 and 8006 differed technically from the rest of the range. They had a ZF-synchronized 8+4 (or 12+4) gearbox and, until 1972, also used ZF hydraulics.

The design had changed to an angular style in line with fashion. The model range was more uniform than before, meaning that as many parts as possible were shared across different models. Four-wheel-drive models had ZF axles, except for the 8006, which from 1972 onwards used Sige axles. Power steering was available as an option. Tractors were also made with hydrostatic steering. Both disc and drum brakes were used, but tractors imported into Finland were equipped with the cheaper drum brakes. From 1972, the 8006 had a distributor pump.

Starting with the 6006, the cab floor was flat, but the gear levers were located in the middle. In Finland, Deutz tractors were equipped with Terä, Kuusla, and Horsma cabs. The 8006 model had the original Deutz cab (see the image in the presentation of the larger models). The importers were Aug. Lipsanen and Carlson. Around 100 Deutz tractors were sold per year in the late 1960s and early 1970s. Imports ended in 1974.

The data has been collected primarily from brochures. In some cases, sources contain conflicting information. In such cases, we have attempted to select the most reliable information. There is particularly significant variation in speed data, which varies depending on factors such as tire size. For tires, only the size most commonly used in Finland is listed. Other changes during the model history have been addressed in the text section. For the front axle lock, the Finnish term "hammaslukko" (gear lock) is used for all 100% locks.
