Info

The quite advanced Steyr 9100 series was introduced to the market in 1995. They were the first Steyrs equipped with Valmet engines, except for the earlier large models manufactured by MF. Steyr had previously been involved in the development of the 20-series engines. The 9105 featured a four-cylinder engine, while the larger models had six-cylinder engines.

The gearbox manufactured by ZF, which had purchased Steyr's powertrain production, was equipped with a 4-speed powershift. The transmission was the same as in the six-cylinder Deutz-Fahr Agrotrons. The production lineup included versions that could travel at 30 km/h, 40 km/h, and 50 km/h. The quick-shift was located on the Multi-Controller handle, along with the direction change, the lift control, and two hydraulic control buttons. Hydraulic direction change was situated under the steering wheel on the left side, alongside the lever. In addition to the engine and powertrain, Steyr had decided to purchase the cab for these models as well: it was manufactured by Case IH in France. The cab's noise level was 72 dB.

The PTO (power take-off) speeds were 540/750/1000/1400 rpm. The electronic lift had a lifting capacity of 8,830 kg and later 9,970 kg. Initially, the hydraulic flow was 80 liters per minute; in the 2000s, a closed system became standard, with the pump delivering 115 liters per minute. In 1997, a front axle suspension called Hydronic-E, developed together with Carraro, was introduced. In the same year, parallel models Case IH CS 110-150 were launched on the market.

The data has been collected primarily from brochures. In some cases, sources contain conflicting information. In such cases, we have attempted to select the most reliable information. There is particularly significant variation in speed data, which varies depending on factors such as tire size. For tires, only the size most commonly used in Finland is listed. Other changes during the model history have been addressed in the text section. For the front axle lock, the Finnish term "hammaslukko" (gear lock) is used for all 100% locks.
